Sodium Silicate Type RU is a water-glass binder used in CO2-gassed and ester-set mold and core systems for both ferrous and non-ferrous castings.
Foundries choose RU-type silicate for its low-odor operation, dependable strength, and broad process flexibility. Compared with organic resin binders, sodium silicate systems produce fewer hazardous fumes and emissions, though they can be harder to shake out and reclaim.
