Custom Wedge Prisms

Wedge prisms are optical prisms with a circular base and a tilted top surface, creating a linear gradient in thickness across the diameter. The wedge angle between the bottom and top faces enables precise beam deviation, laser beam steering, and dispersion applications without image inversion.

Our configurator below provides instant online quoting for custom wedge prisms in N-BK7 (H-K9L) and UV Fused Silica (JGS1) materials. You can specify diameter, maximum height, and minimum height dimensions to achieve your desired wedge angle. Optional AR coatings can be selected for the top and bottom faces.

Common applications include autocollimators, beam steering systems, anamorphic beam shaping, dispersion compensation, and precision alignment systems. Wedge prism pairs can also be used together for variable beam deviation by rotating one prism relative to the other.

Note: It costs about as much to make one custom prism as it does to make ten, hence the minimum order quantity is 10 pieces. Large price drops occur as volume increases to 100 units.
