Point Source Collection Lenses

Point Source Collection Lenses

Point source collection lenses excel at (you guessed it) collecting as much light as possible from a point source. Common use cases for these lenses are laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and flourescence measurement. Note: these are not imaging lenses.

Given your parameters, the tool below will find and quote the two-lens optical system that gets the most amount of light into your fiber. We recommend that you start with Optimize (Medium Precision) to dial in your parameters and then run Optimize (High Precision), which is much slower, for the final design.

Though you can select any focal length you want, we only use stock lenses, so performance is usually best near a stock back focal length. The system will show you the nearest stock back focal length based on your wavelength range.

Currently, you can only automatically quote uncoated, fused silica lenses. If you would like a different type of lens, coating, or something else special, please send us a message at [email protected]. If possible, we will gladly give you a free manual quote.
