Cylindrical plano concave lenses are single-element optical lenses with one flat (plano) surface and one cylindrically curved concave surface. Unlike spherical lenses that diverge light from a point, cylindrical concave lenses diverge light along one axis. They are ideal for beam expansion, line generation, and anamorphic optical systems.
These lenses have a rectangular aperture with length and width dimensions, and the cylindrical curvature is applied along the width axis. The concave surface causes the lens to be thicker at the edges than at the center. Common applications include laser beam expansion, light sheet microscopy, line scanning systems, and optical aberration correction.
Our configurator below provides instant online quoting for custom cylindrical plano concave lenses in N-BK7 (H-K9L) and UV Fused Silica (JGS1) materials. You can specify length, width, radius of curvature, center thickness, and select optional AR coatings.
If you need materials, coatings, or specifications not available in the configurator, please contact us at [email protected] for a custom quote.
Note: It costs about as much to make one custom lens as it does to make ten, hence the minimum order quantity is 10 pieces. Large price drops occur as volume increases to 100 units.
